Ad Fundamentals

Do I need the Facebook Pixel?

The Facebook Pixel is a small piece of tracking code businesses add to their own website so Meta can see what happens after someone clicks an ad — did they buy something, fill out a form, spend two minutes browsing. It's essential for e-commerce stores measuring purchases on their own site.

If you're using Meta's native Lead Ads through Donded, the form submission happens entirely inside Facebook or Instagram — there's no website visit to track, so a Pixel adds nothing. Donded already knows a lead came in the moment it happens, because Meta notifies it directly.

The one case where it's worth adding: if you're running Traffic campaigns to Donded's own landing page for a specific offer, a Pixel on that page lets Meta's algorithm learn which users are more likely to actually submit the form, not just click the link — which can lower your cost per lead over time. It's an optimization, not a requirement.
